5th July 2025: Wedding Day

Midday: Wedding Service

This will take place in the Church of All Saints.

Afternooon/Evening: Drinks, Dinner and Dancing

Back to Prested Hall to celebrate our marriage together.

Morning: Stolismata

The ‘stolisma’ ceremonies for the bride and groom will take place in Prested Hall, before the wedding service.

There will be booklets explaining the significant parts of a Christian Orthodox wedding for you to follow during the service. These will be available to you at the church.

The ‘stolisma’ is the Cypriot tradition of dressing the bride and groom. It is part of their preparation to leave their families and begin their life together. Musicians play a song that calls the relatives and friends to give their blessings. The family incense the bride and groom and pass a red scarf around the bride and groom’s waists that symbolises fertility.

As well as food and drinks, this will include speeches, traditional dancing and some Rock ‘n’ Roll, so bring your dancing shoes!
